Improved Wavedynamics Preset Naming

To ensure an intuitive and user-friendly experience, we've refined the naming convention of our Wavedynamics™ presets for loudspeakers and subwoofers. This update is designed to make it easier for users to select the correct preset for their setup within AUDAC Touch™

Clear, Consistent, and Informative
The new naming structure gives users immediate insight into the key characteristics of each preset, including:

• Loudspeaker model (e.g. VEXO208)
• Preset type: Full-range (Full), Satellite (Sat), or Subwoofer (Sub)
• Amplifier configuration: Single channel (Single) or Bridge mode (Bridge)
• Listening distance: Near Field (NearF), Mid Field (MidF), or Far Field (FarF) – not applicable for subwoofers
• Impedance: 4 Ohm (4O), 8 Ohm (8O), or 16 Ohm (16O)

When multiple variations are available for a loudspeaker model, details like amplifier mode and impedance will be included. Preset names are kept within the 32-character limit of AUDAC Touch™ to maintain visibility and clarity.

Understanding the Preset Types
Each preset is optimized to offer the best acoustic performance based on its intended use:

Full-Range (Full)
Designed to cover the full audio spectrum—lows, mids, and highs—through a single loudspeaker. Ideal for general-purpose applications, these presets use a 2nd order Butterworth high-pass filter to balance depth and clarity.

Satellite (Sat)
These presets handle mid and high frequencies with increased dynamic range. Used together with a subwoofer, satellites create a full-range sound system. Crossovers are fixed at 100 Hz using a 4th order slope in the latest preset library versions.

Subwoofer (Sub)
Dedicated to reproducing low frequencies, AUDAC subwoofer presets maintain a natural sound without unnecessary equalization. Each subwoofer uses a 100 Hz low-pass filter (4th order), with high-pass filters based on the tuning frequency and THD at peak power (2nd order).

Subwoofer – Boost
An enhanced version of the standard subwoofer preset, this mode emphasizes the tuning frequency range while reducing energy around 100 Hz. It delivers extra punch and presence at lower volumes.

Distance-Based Adjustments
For loudspeaker presets, sound behavior is optimized based on listening distance:

• Near Field (NearF): Tailored for short distances (0.5–3 m), with slight high-frequency adjustments via a hi-shelving filter for minimal phase shift.
• Mid Field (MidF): Ideal for mid-sized spaces (3–10 m), balancing detail and power with frequency compensation for air absorption.
• Far Field (FarF): Used in large venues (10+ m), these presets ensure accurate sound projection across systems, often in coordination with matched satellite and subwoofer combinations.

This updated naming convention and preset optimization reflect our continued dedication to delivering flexible, high-performance audio solutions for every application.
